This wiki also had a diehard following which made it next to impossible to update without doing tons of research but somehow I was able to sneak three solid edits in there. The first post was very smooth because even though its affiliated with ESPN no one would think to put it in the wiki. I added a link to EXPN ESPN's extreme sports website. I followed this up by paying attention closely to what events were coming to the ESPN channel of networks and I got my break. My second edit was about extreme biker Mike Metzger jumping over the fountains in Las Vegas which broke the record for farthest backflip on a motorcylce. Lastly I was astonished when I saw someone had not already added this to the article. It must have gone unnoticed to some that the WBPA Billiards Tour aired on ESPN so I was able to add that. This wiki was by far the hardest one to gather information on. My contributions though I thought were very good ones and added value to the sight. My edits remain untoched so I believe the community is thankful that someone went out and added the obscure coverage of events that ESPN sometime has to offer.

Tom Petty Final post

One of the better singers from past generations Tom Petty was the feature of one of my wiki articles. This community was different than any other post because this fan base is very large and loyal to any comments. My first post was probably the best of the bunch because I was right on top of the issue as it was announced. Tom was asked to be the headliner at Bonnaroo Music Festival which is a major concert in Tennesee. My second entry also featured information about tour stops as he embarked on his Highway Companion Tour. I included some information about tour stops. The third entry involved his new loyal fan club called the Highway Companions Club which offered loyal customers deals and priority ticket requests along with a version of his latest cd. This wiki article and blog posts generated many responses from my fellow bloggers most likely related to the success Tom has had through his career. Once again my edits were accepted by the community and I think I added some quality information.

Pepper final edit

The relativly unknown band out of Hawaii Pepper was of interest to me and I decided to help along thier wiki article. With many bands tour information is important so fans can see them when they are coming to their town. All of my posts for this article was about the current tours they were on. My first post had to deal with a show that Pepper was able to host. They were asked to host the third annual Kona Town Music Festival. My second post also had to do with new releases to thier tour schedule that would take them from the island to the rest of the US. They had stops all over the west coast like Oregon, California, Idaho and Nevada. My third post also had to do with a component of their tour. They started to add video to their website showing what they do in their free time. I also added new venues to the tour with 311. I think I had a very good impact on this article. I was able to update fans with their newest tour venues and provided information about their website. This community is different from many others because this band is not mainstream but i seemed to be accepted ok by them seeing they were nice enough to keep my posts up.

Guster Final wiki

Throughout this semester I updated the Guster adding alot of information about recent things including thier tour stops and recent TV show. In my first post I was able to address the band's Campus Consciouness Tour where they traveld to different schools and preached a healthy enviornment by using bio diesel fuel and wind power throughout the tour. My second post addressed their new tv show Joe's Place which airs over thier website. This show gives a look into the bands activites while they are on tour. My third post informed them on the current summer tour that the band is on. I added about their stops in major cities as well as small towns like Portland,ME and Vienna,VA. I believe through these blogs i had a very positive impact to the wiki. I hope to have had a good impact on the community and think I accomplished that because my entries havent been deleted. The last thing is that my entries are temporary features associated with the band because next year the tour schedule will change and so will the show.

ESPN update

Picking ESPN for a wiki article tended to give me more problems than I anticipated trying to find things to edit about. Someone forgot to post that ESPN airs the WBPA Classic Tour a billiards tour that airs on their network during weekdays. The band will be having a Pimp My Clean Car contest at many of their shows the day of to promote their enviornmental beliefs. Like most tours they will stop in big cities such as Chicago, Detriot, Philadelphia and Boston. But what was interesting about this band is that they play in smaller cities and towns. The band will make a stop at Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland,ME home of fellow blogger Erik and will make another stop at Wolftrap Farm Park in my home town of Vienna,VA.

Review number 2 of partners blog posts

I was reading through my partners blogs and I saw that many of them had some very infomative stuff. On Beccas Blog I was impressed with how the MySpace presentation was really able to show her all the options that is offered by that program even though she admits to being an avid Facebook user. On Meagan's Blog I was able to catch up alittle bit on a Skype presentation that I unfourtunalty missed. The presentation given by Dave on Search Optimization seemed very interesting and looks like it gave added insight to our experiment. Then there is Erik's Blog when I saw the devestation I was at a loss of words. It was an article on the Top 50 Advertisers on the Internet. Some of these companies or websites I never have heard of so I guess they are not targeting my type of audience or are just doing a poor job. The number one advertiser was Vonage some type of phone company. There were many major companies in the top 25 with the likes of Target and Walmart located in that group. Towards the middle of the pack were companies like Verizon and Victoria's Secret and bringing up the 50th spot was Expedia a travel website. Combined these companies spent 235,163,000 in advertising during the month of March.

Tom petty update

I just updated the Tom Petty article on wikipedia. At this point Meagan cant believe that there are two blog postings from me on the same day. A week ago Mark Hughes came in for our first live presentation of the year. This was the best speaker I have heard in some time besides someone named Alex Brown. Mark Hughes the author of Buzz Marketing spoke with us about the power that Buzz has in the world today. Him and his colleagues started up http://half.com in Halfway,Oregon and some how got the whole town to change the name for a year which is still mind boggling to me at this point. How they used the buzz from that town renaming stunt to promote the website along with fortune cookies to get their name out there to the public. They later sold the company for a lot of money and from there he has become very influencial with his book and website http://buzzmarketing.com. This has been some pretty cool technology that I didnt know was out there until I started with this class. Last week we had Dave Brown talk to us about Internet Security which includes stuff like phishing to gain personal information so people can use it as identity fraud.
